Just For Fun

I thought I’d share some of my favorite skin and makeup products that I’ve fallen in love with! While I was home for Christmas, my mom got me hooked on some of The Body Shop’s skincare products. Now, she’s also the one who introduced me to my favorite mascara! What would I do without my dear mom? :)

I’m not a huge makeup guru, and I’ve never been one to spend a lot of money on it. But that being said, I got a gift card for Christmas, spent a good amount of time researching what the difference between a name brand and a drugstore brand is, and finding what would be the best for my skin. I read a lot of reviews! And I decided that once in my life it would be ok to splurge! I bought a Bobbi Brown oil-free cream-to-powder foundation. It goes on very smooth and light (probably because I like to spread it as thin as possible to avoid the fake-y cake-y look!), and it blends in with my skin SO well! I bought it for date nights and when I have special events I want to look nice for! It makes me feel so fancy to have “special occasion makeup”! :D

But foundation is not the actual foundation for having flawless skin. I don’t know about you, but I would rather have clean, clear skin naturally and not ever have to wear any foundation! So that’s where all that wonderful skincare my mom sucked me into trying comes in.

Here is my list of wonder products everyone should try!

I start my morning off with:

Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Pore Scrub

My skin is pretty particular… and this never ever leaves it dry. I use it once a day (at night to get the makeup off) and just rinse my face with water in the morning. But the best part, is the SMELL! It’s beyond amazing…

Twice a week I also use this facial mask.

The Body Shop Blue Corn 3-in-1 Deep Cleansing Mask

Use this instead of washing your face- it works wonders to get the dirt out of your pores!

Step 2":

The Body Shop Seaweed Pore Perfector

This goes on before moisturizer and works to bring impurities to the surface and purify your pores. Then it reduces enlarged pores to create a perfectly smooth surface.

Step 3: I use Aveeno Daily Moisturizer after the Seaweed Pore Perfector. I also use it at night. I always thought I had oily skin, but while researching I found out that often times “oily skin” comes from overdrying with anti-acne skincare. I stopped using any acne-fighting products and started moisturizing regularly instead. My skin definitely went through an adjustment period, but it got SO much better! If you have any issues, I’d highly recommend trying it!

Step 4:  The Body Shop Vitamin C Skin Boost

This feels like silk on your skin! I goes on after moisturizer, and I actually only use it when I’m going to wear makeup because it’s an incredible primer! It makes your skin feel like a baby’s bum :)

Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer

This is a primer also worth mentioning- and I actually use this when I’m not planning on wearing face makeup! It brightens the skin, makes you look dewy and it makes tired under-eye circles practically invisible! This just might be my favorite beauty product…EVER.

The Goodies

Maybelline New York Eye Studio Gel Eyeliner

I hate the smudging I have to fix when I wear a pencil eyeliner! But, no More! I love how smooth this goes on and stays defined.

Maybelline Nature Luxe Mousse Mascara

Truly, no clumps! It’s like magic! If you’ve never tried it, next time you need new mascara, just go snag some! This is the one my mom introduced me to, and for a natural looking mascara, I will never use anything else.

And last but not least…

Bobbi Brown Oil- Free Even Finish Compact Foundation

I’m not a big foundation wearer, because I always thought it looked overdone. But I’ve been proved wrong with this foundation. Because it dries as a powder, it’s important to use moisturizer and put the foundation on before the lotion soaks in. It keeps it from becoming flaky :)

  1. ooooohhh. So gonna have to try the primer. I had the problem with thinking my skin was oily and then it was really a mix and overly dry. I have an acne topical medication regimen but I use Bare Minerals and am obsessed! It is so easy and is an amazing concealer for unruly skin.

    1. I used the Bare Minerals too! LOVE their stuff too! But for some reason because it's a powder it makes around my nose kind of flaky!
